Christopher came up with the idea for “Let Everybody Read” after his editor came back from a trip to Hawaii, where she discovered a “Borders Express” on the island.  The small yet ample book kiosk was able to provide visitors with the latest titles and the ability to order any book that they requested. Christopher thought that the development of small kiosks like this could help aid low income communities where bookstores are obviously non-existent.

After Christopher prayed about his mission to bring this project to life in low income areas where all kinds of negative influences such as derogatory music and other forms of entertainment are easily accessible, God gave him a scripture that would be the founding block of “LER”.  The scripture is from Hosea 4:6 where God tells us “My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

The absences of such power house bookstores like Barnes & Noble and Borders are due to many determining factors.  High risk of theft, low ability to return a profit, and they feel that the market place will not be able to sustain the business. But the reasons why they are needed outweigh any excuse or reason why they are not present. Anybody who has ever set foot in one of theses bookstores knows the potential for the expansion of knowledge in any capacity!  With books on everything from how to be a real estate investor to how to be a CEO.  Many of theses titles are far and between in local libraries or “mom and pop” stores.

It is due to this information that CBJ Enterprises has determined that this nonprofit corporation is needed. LER has 2 programs each having several phases that will be executed to insure we help people from being destroyed in their lives, careers, and families by providing assistance in the area of knowledge.

Best Foot 4ward is an organization that will inspire people in low income areas to go after positions that they are very qualified for but due to the standards of fashion needed to secure those positions they are unable to afford the right attire.  BF4W will have two programs  with a 5 year plan to add job training and interview coaching programs.

Program #1 BF4W will partner with churches and community outreach people in certain areas to set up communication with possible job seekers.  Once communications have been established we will inform that community of the requirements for them to benefit from BF4W.  We will ask for job seekers regardless of how they received the job interview (workforce, agency or temp agencies) to come to us with three job interviews setup and they will receive two suits (both men and women) for their job interview.

Program #2 BF4W if a participant of BF4W secures any one of the jobs they will receive one week of interchangeable clothing (that way they will have at least 4 weeks of clothing) ties, pants, suit coats, and shoes. They also will receive a $500 gift certificate to Men’s Warehouse (for men) and JC Penny’s (for women) to be able to purchase more clothing until they start to receive paychecks where they can gain proper attire on their own.
